Our very favorite vacation in Utah is to visit Uncle Bob on his pecan ranch in Hurricane and stay in the beautiful little cottage.
Uncle Bob and Aunt Cynthia live in a larger log home on the ranch, but across the yard they have built this adorable little cottage with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a family room and a kitchen.
Clark climbed pecan trees without ladders and forts.
While Emily and Blake preferred the actual tree house.
The pecans littered the ground and Uncle Bob helped the kids pick up two five gallon buckets full of nuts. Then they brought them into his shop where they could separate the nuts from the hulls.
Katie supervised. "This is MY bucket!"
Finally, Uncle Bob showed the kids his nut cracker machine.
The kids loved Uncle Bob's shop. He showed them big tools that made sparks and carved wood. One time Clark came running out the shop, shouting, "Mom, you got to see what he has in there!"
Thank you, thank you Bob and Cynthia. My children had a wonderful time with you both.
