Candlelight Christmas

Tonight we took Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma and our kids to Candlelight Christmas at This Is The Place Heritage Park.  The park is a collection of old buildings and houses that have been moved from their original lots into the park for preservation.  The result is a little historical village.  The buildings are manned by actors who dress and act like pioneers from the 1800's.  

First we took the train over to the Brigham Young Farmhouse where two actors were impersonating Brigham Young and his wife.  "Brother Brigham" invited the children to write a letter to Santa and his "wife" offered us hot cider.  

Then we went out to the barn where Father Christmas was waiting.

Back inside the farmhouse we took a few family photos by the Christmas tree.  Here is Grandma and Grandpa with Great-Grandma.

Then we got back onto the train and rode over to the other houses where they were hosting puppet shows, crafts, and activities.  My personal favorite was the dancing instruction in the schoolhouse.

Clark was the only one brave enough to give it a try with me.  This photo was taken by Jeff when Clark and I were the lead couple.  I had a blast!  Truly, it was about the most fun I've had in forever!

We had a lot of fun.  It was a good kick-off to the Christmas season.
