Schloss Burg

After five nights in Germany, it is time to return to Belgium so that Jeff can start his busy season. But before we left the country we stopped at Schloss Burg which is a castle near Koln. This is one of the best castles we've visited in Europe.

The first part of the tour was through parts of the castle that have been reconstructed, like this dining room:



The rest of the castle has been made into a museum that houses artifacts from that era - mostly medieval. This photo is for Grandpa. Any idea what that ball on the end is for? We have no idea. Also, do you think those little guns could actually work, or are they just for show?



I think the best part was walking along the outside castle walls:

Do you see that high tower in the middle? That is where we climbed up to look out over the pretty countryside.

And so our German vacation comes to an end. Back to work and back to school and back to that MOUNTAIN of laundry that is the result of any vacation!
