DRUIVENFEESTEN

Today we went into the center of Overijse for the Druivenfeesten (Grape Festival). The commune of Overijse is famous for it's grapes. Mostly huge dark purple globe grapes that are for eating. They do make some wine with them, but mostly they are just table grapes. Today there was a very large street fair and market in the center of our little town. It was raining when we got there (this has been the rainiest, coolest summer in years) but stopped after a bit. We began our tour by ducking into an expo building where many local growers had entered their finest grapes into a competition. Some where as big as golfballs.

Later we found a local school that had recently opened it's doors and they were manning a booth to promote themselves. There the kids got their faces painted.

Then the Pehrson animals needed a snack, so we stopped for some raspberries and apricots from another stand and found a curb to sit on.

On another note.... SOMEONE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT LAST NIGHT!!!! Katie slept from 9:30pm to 5:30am! This is WAY better then any of my other kids have slept this early. I have no idea if it will continue, but we still enjoyed the one night. Today Katie is 8 weeks old - my goodness where does the time fly?
